District Wards and Boundaries


As part of its determination on the basis of the 2004 elections, the Local Government Commission has made changes to the boundaries of the electoral Wards and Communities of the Kapiti Coast District from those existing in 2001. The boundaries of wards and communities as determined by the Local Government Commission in 2004 will be the same for the 2007 election.

The streets and property numbers that have been affected by the changes, or are close to the boundaries of the areas affected by the changes, are explained below.

The boundary between Otaki and Waikanae electoral Wards and Communities

This boundary has been moved south into areas of the 2001 Waikanae Ward and Community, and now takes in much of the Reikorangi valley.

Peka Peka Road. All numbers - Otaki Ward

Paetawa Road. All numbers - Otaki Ward
Beachview Grove (off Paetawa Road) - Otaki Ward
Marram Way (off Paetawa Road) - Otaki Ward

Reikorangi Road, rural numbers 15 to 313 - Otaki Ward
Reikorangi Road, rural numbers 2 to 294 - Waikanae Ward
Elizabeth Street, All numbers - Waikanae Ward

Huia Street, numbers 2 to 24 and 1 to 105 - Waikanae Ward
Huia Street, numbers 26 to 274 and 119 to 227 - Otaki Ward

The boundary between Paraparaumu and Paekakariki/Raumati electoral Wards

The following street numbers, previously in the Paekakariki/Raumati Ward, are now in the Paraparaumu Ward;

Wharemauku Road. All numbers (previously only even numbers 38 to 60 were in the Paraparaumu Ward)
Avion Terrace, number 2 (only)
Raebern Lane. All numbers
Matatua Road, numbers 91, 93 and all between 95 and 145
Arawa Street. All numbers
Alexander Road, even numbers 100 to 126, and odd numbers 105 to 141
Kirkway. All numbers
Tainui Street, even numbers only, between 2 and 36.
