This page contains the agendas and minutes for the meetings held by the Kapiti Coast District Council. The agendas presented here are order papers only so please contact the Democratic Services Co-ordinator if you would like to view any attachments associated with an agenda - phone (04) 296-4700 or email Kapiti.Council@kapiticoast.govt.nz.

Council holds many meetings during the year. Most are open to the public.

Public meetings schedule (includes Council, Committee meetings, Community Board meetings and workshops).

At every public meeting, 30 minutes is allocated to the public to speak on any issue. If you would like to speak, please advise the Democratic Services Co-ordinator of your name and topic before the start of the meeting.

In some circumstances, Councils may consider items in private, which are also termed 'Public Excluded' items. Such circumstances generally relate to protection of personal privacy, professionally privileged or commercially sensitive information and the maintenance of public health, safety and order.

Meeting agendas are public documents, although parts may be withheld if the above circumstances apply. Agendas are available two days before a meeting at:

• this page of the Kapiti Coast District Council website
• Council's Libraries and Service Centres
• St Peter's Hall in Paekakariki during library hours
  (Mon & Wed 2pm-4pm, Saturday 10am-12pm).

For all meetings of the Council, Committees and Community Boards a quorum is half the members (including vacancies) if the number of members is even, and a majority if the number is odd.

Meetings are sometimes cancelled for a variety of reasons. If you are planning to attend a scheduled meeting please confirm it is to be held by contacting the Democratic Services Co-ordinator.

The legal requirements for Council meetings are set down in the Local Government Act 2002 and the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987.
