Sustainability
The Kāpiti Coast District Council has adopted sustainable development as a basic building block of the Community Plan. Sustainable development is about the way things are done, as well as a vision for the future. It is a way of ensuring the continued social, cultural, economic and environmental wellbeing of the community.
The Council has adopted fourteen sustainable development principles to guide decision-making. These are detailed in Part One of the Community Plan.
