Raumati Beach CBD stormwater upgrade

The $3 million Raumati Beach stormwater upgrade project has started and will take between six and seven months. 

The works involve installing a major pump station and increasing the size of the existing pipe network.

A significant part of the project is the undergrounding of power and telephone services along the front of Marine Gardens, as well as the northern side of Raumati Road, from the Gardens to Raumati Primary School.

The high voltage nature of the power supply to the pump station also mean that, for safety reasons, the power lines in the area need to go underground so future maintenance is possible.
