Energise Ōtaki

‘Energise Ōtaki’ is the official name for the long term initiative to make the Greater Ōtaki area a net exporter of clean energy.

The name was announced at the energy forum held at the Clean Technology Centre in Miro St on July 16 following a round of public voting.

People who voted helped the initiative by agreeing to share their electricity and gas data with the Kāpiti Coast District Council for the purpose of estimating total energy use in the town, and went into a prize draw.

The winner, Gendy Stevenson, was drawn in a ballot at the forum by Ōtaki Community Board Chair, Don Moselen.  View details of the prize here.

Ōtaki residents who want to receive information and updates on ‘Energise Ōtaki’ and help the initiative by giving permission for their energy retailer to share data with Council can do so by registering online
