Kerbside Services

All kerbside collection services are fully funded on a user pays basis.  There is no contribution from rates. 

You have the choice of purchasing Council rubbish bags or arranging for a private wheelie-bin contractor to collect your rubbish. 

Urban residential properties on the Kāpiti Coast receive a weekly kerbside recycling service. Kerbside recycling costs are built into the price of Council rubbish bags and private wheelie-bin charges.

Collection Days

Rubbish bags and recycling bins have to be out at the kerb by 7.30am on the day of collection.  Rubbish bags are not collected at the same time recycle bins are emptied.

You can use the Address Search in our Geographic Information System (GIS) Web Mapping tool to identify the collection day for your property.  Please note you will need to agree to the Terms and Conditions of Use.

Please note: If No is displayed in the Rubbish Collection field the property is outside the kerbisde collection area.  Recyclable items can be dropped off at a local Transfer Station, free of charge.

Public Holidays

Kerbside services for Council rubbish bags and recycling crates continue as normal except for Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. 

Wheelie bin collections on a Public Holiday may vary, please contact your wheelie bin provider for details.
