Youth Services

The Council employs a full time Social Wellbeing Advisor whose focus is young people.  They work with the community as well as local and national youth organisations, creating networks, organising projects and events and providing the Council with information on issues concerning young people in Kāpiti.

Current youth projects the Council is involved in:

• Supporting Kāpiti Coast Youth Council
• Youth research project - exploring young people's opinions and ideas about the District.  This project is being lead by the Youth Council.
• Youth education training and employment - looking at how we can deliver youth transition services in the District.
• Supporting youth events across the District including during Youth Week.

The Council convenes the Kāpiti Youth Workers Network - it meets on a monthly basis and is a great networking forum for workers in the youth sector. 

The Social Wellbeing Team is happy to answer any questions about youth services or issues in Kāpiti.
