Waikanae Community Board Grants
Community Board Grants are available to assist groups or individuals from the Waikanae Ward.
There are three grants administered by the Waikanae Community Board. They are:
- Waikanae Promotion Fund
- Discretionary Grants Fund
- Waikanae Capital Improvement Grant
Please note: All funds from the 2011/2012 financial year have been successfully granted. The Waikanae Community will not accept any new applications until the new financial year, starting 1 July 2012. Applications received after that date will be considered at the first meeting of the new financial year, which is scheduled for Tuesday 7 August 2012.
Waikanae Promotion Fund
The purpose of the Waikanae Promotion Fund is to support groups or individuals who, through their activities, are promoting the Waikanae Ward. This would include events or activities that contribute to making Waikanae a good place to live, attracting visitors to the area, or promoting Waikanae as a visitor destination.
Discretionary Grants Fund
The Discretionary Grants Fund is to assist groups or individuals who promise a future input into the development of community, cultural or sports activities within the Ward.
This fund is also available to those who are unable to receive sufficient grants from other sources because of timeframe or ineligibility, or to offset the cost of any Council permit, licence or fee for any activity that falls into a "worthy cause" category.
Waikanae Capital Improvement Grant
The Waikanae Capital Improvement Grant is a fund made available once a year. Its purpose is to assist Waikanae organisations with capital projects, which must be of benefit to a significant portion of the Waikanae community.
The Capital Improvement Grant has now closed for the current financial year.
In the 2011/2012 financial year, a total of $30,687.04 was distributed (exc GST). View previous projects and amounts funded by the Capital Improvement Grant here.
Accountability
All grant recipients are required to provide a short, simple report back on use of the funds, by completing an “Accountability Report Back” form outlining the benefits gained.
Any money NOT used for the purpose applied for is required to be immediately repaid to the Waikanae Community Board, Community Grants Fund.
Procedure for Applications
- Applications must be made on the approved application form and addressed to Tracey Ferry.
- Applications must be received no later than eight working days prior to the Waikanae Community Board meeting date in order to meet the reporting deadline.
