Deputations

Deputations may be received, provided an application for admission, setting out the subject, has been lodged with the Chief Executive at least ten clear days before the date of the meeting concerned, and has been subsequently approved by the Chairperson.

The Chairperson may decide, in a matter of urgency or major public interest, that a deputation be received.

Except with the approval of the Council, not more than two members of a deputation may address the meeting.

A limit of five minutes is placed on each of the two members of any deputation addressing the meeting, unless the meeting determines otherwise.

Petitions

Every petition presented shall comprise less than 500 words.

A limit of five minutes shall be placed on any petitioner presenting a petition, unless the Local Authority determines otherwise.  The Chair of the meeting will formally receive the petition.
