Librarians - Ref 055/056

Kāpiti Coast District Libraries provide a range of services, collections, spaces and programmes, using best practice processes and technologies, tailored to meet the current and future library needs of the thriving Kāpiti Coast community.  We have two exciting opportunities to join our high-performing team in frontline customer service roles. Details of each role are: 

Librarian – Paekākāriki (Part time) – Ref 055   

This is a 0.5 FTE role (20 hours per/week), with hours worked on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, predominantly at the Paekākāriki Library. 

Librarian – Paraparaumu (Weekends) – Ref 056 

This is a 0.25 FTE role (10.5 hours per/week), with hours worked on Saturdays and Sundays, predominantly based at the Paraparaumu Library.


Each of these roles is responsible for:

  • delivering exceptional customer service;
  • providing assistance for information and research queries;
  • providing readers’ advisory services; and
  • ensuring the needs of our library customers are met.  

Preferred candidates will need to undergo the usual pre-employment checks, including drug and alcohol screening and police, criminal history and credit checks.
