Don Moselen resigns as Chair of Ōtaki Community Board
Wednesday 30 May 2012
Don Moselen has tended his resignation from Chair of the Ōtaki Community Board with immediate effect, says Deputy Chair James Cootes.
“I believe Don has done the right thing, given his recent court appearances. We were all in a very awkward position and there was mounting pressure on him to resign.
“Don has been a very good Chair since taking up the position in 2010, but clearly there are other things happening in his life that have made his position on the Board untenable.”
Mr Cootes said the election of a new Chair would be included in the agenda for the next Board meeting set down for June 19.
Mr Moselen has been a member of the Board since 2004. He was Deputy Chair in 2007 and Chairman from 2010.
Kāpiti Mayor Jenny Rowan had no comment to make, other than to say the election of a new Chair was a matter for Community Board consideration.
