The outstanding talent, skills and abilities of 18 young people in Kāpiti were recognised at the inaugural Shout Out Awards ceremony last night.
Mayor Jenny Rowan presented awards to the winner and runner up in each of the nine categories which honour achievement in arts and culture, environment and sustainability, leadership, community and service, innovation, ‘turning your life around’, business initiatives, trades and being an outstanding employee.
The Mayor also congratulated the award recipients for being positive role models for other young people.
“What you have achieved and the people you are inspires and encourages your peers to take on challenges, follow their dreams and be the best people they can possibly be,” she said.
