Tile sponsors displayed in stunning pool artwork

Mosaic panels to be displayed in the entrance of Coastlands Aquatic Centre. The designs were created by Raumati-based Eden Design and the panels and printing by Euro metals in Waikanae.
Two colourful artworks displaying the names of promotional tile sponsors will welcome visitors to the Coastlands Aquatic Centre.
The large mosaic panels depicting Kāpiti scenes will go up on either side of the entrance way. The panels have been created using locally-developed technology that allows vibrant colours to be printed on metal.
Kapiti Aquatic Centre Trust Chair Neil MacKay says the results are stunning. "These artworks are like nothing else I have seen in a public building. They are vibrant, modern and the scenes, unmistakably Kāpiti."
Mr MacKay says sponsors who have bought tiles to support the Coastlands Aquatic Centre development, will have their names or organisations inscribed on gold, silver, bronze and blue squares.
"The colours are perfect for landscape and seascape scenes. The sizes of the squares will differ depending on the value of tiles purchased. I hope the tile sponsors are as impressed as we are."
To make sure inscriptions are 100 per cent accurate, purchasers are advised to go online and check. A list of tile sponsors can be found at www.kapitiaquatic.co.nz Click on 'Tile Supporters' and scroll through the list. Any changes should be notified to Tracey Ferry, 04 296 4893 email@example.com
Councillor Diane Ammundsen says people can still buy tiles but they will have to be quick as there are only around 60 left. "There's the option to either purchase a tile or for current sponsors to upgrade to a higher value. This is a unique and special gift that will last for years and give the recipient a small stake in this fabulous facility."
The Coastland's Aquatic Centre is expected to open at the end of March next year.
