Resources for Teachers
Purpose:
To promote and support the hard copy resource "Taking Action in My Community' being distributed to District Primary Schools in October 2009.
Democracy in Action!
In September 2009 Council launched a new resource called 'Taking Action in My Community' - a teaching programme for civics education aimed at Years 7 and 8.
The programme is easy to follow, aligns with the curriculum and is lots of fun!
Taking Action in My Commmunity helps students learn about Council's activities, how decisions are made, and encourages students to develop their own campaigns for change - democracy in action!
Congratulations if you have decided to use this resource. The following links will take you to information supporting the programme.
