Community Grants Scheme
The Kapiti Coast District Council aims to strengthen local communities by providing financial support through the Community Grants Scheme.
The funds are for community based, social service activities which help to build community capacity by improving quality of life, as well as encourage greater participation in the community, co-operation and collaboration between community organisations and wider community involvement.
Funds are allocated in October each year, but an additional round may occur in March if all the funds are not fully allocated.

Creative Communities Scheme
The arts of New Zealand are flourishing in our culturally diverse communities - in rural communities, towns and cities, and in a range of ways and places. Arts projects may be large and complex, involving many people or smaller-scale projects, or involving just a few individuals.
Creative New Zealand is committed to supporting opportunities for New Zealanders to engage in the arts, wherever they live and whatever their circumstances.
The Kapiti Coast District Council accepts applications twice a year for Creative New Zealand funding. The applications are processed at a local level and grants are approved.
The three main funding criteria are:
(i) Projects that increase participation in the arts (e.g. opportunity for active participation by community).
(ii) Projects that increase the range and diversity of the arts available to communities (e.g. presentation of new works/experiences).
(iii) Projects that enhance and strengthen the local art sector (e.g. training, seminars, networking).
The next round for applications is in September of this year. More information on the scheme and application forms will be available approximately six weeks before the closing date.
