Summer School Holiday Events

Wild About Masks and Photo Booth

We will be making animal masks and taking photos. Pose with your new masks in front of a green screen. With digital magic, we will turn you into an animal in the jungle. This summer holiday event is for ages 5-13 years. Registrations required.

Bilingual Story Time and Dance

Chelsey and Dom will be sharing one of their favourite books Watercress and Tuna, and the Children of Champion Street, by Patricia Grace (Paraparaumu & Waikanae Libraries) or Giraffes Can't Dance by Giles Andreae & Guy Parker-Ress (Ōtaki Library).  Join us for a wonderful story and performance.  Bring your dancing shoes!  This summer holiday event is for ages 5-8 years. Lego Club

Calling all Lego fans! We supply the Lego, you supply the ideas. Come along to this informal group to get creative and share skills. Suitable for all ages Children under 8 must be supervised by an adult. No registrations required.

Summer Reading Programme

The Summer Reading Programme is for primary school-aged children (ages 5–12) and helps to keep kids enjoying books and engaged with reading over the long summer break. Most of all it's fun!

If you have registered for this programme you can Get Wild About Reading - choose your books, get reading and report in during January.

Baby Time

Waikanae Library           10.30-11am    Tuesdays during school terms

Bring your baby or toddler to Baby Time for fun one-on-one interaction with rhymes, songs and stories led by a children's librarian. Enjoy time with other parents following the session.

Paraparaumu Library      10.30-11am     Second Wednesday of each month

Bring your baby or toddler to Baby Time for rhymes, songs and stories with a children's librarian. Parents/caregivers are welcome to enjoy morning tea and a chat following the session.

Pre-School Story Time

Come to the library for stories, singing, finger rhymes, music and fun. Ideal for pre-schoolers who are ready to engage in these types of activities. Story Times run during school terms.
