Waste reduction grants

Applications for 2017/18 grants are now closed. Applications for the next funding round will open in August 2018.

Waste levy fund for community projects

This fund is open to community groups, businesses, iwi/Māori organisations, educational institutions, neighbourhood groups of at least five households and other community-based organisations.

A total of $20,000 is available in 2017/18 for practical on-the-ground waste minimisation projects which encourage community participation and education and/or are of benefit to the Kāpiti community and lead to long-term waste minimisation action.

There is no maximum or minimum grant amount per application. Funding will be allocated between applicants at the discretion of the Grants Allocation Subcommittee.

Applications for 2017/18 grants close on 29 September 2017 5pm.

Waste levy fund for new technologies and seed funding

This fund seeks to encourage the establishment of waste minimisation initiatives on the Kāpiti Coast and create opportunities for economic development through innovative processes and technologies that reduce waste to landfill.

Funding of $50,000 is open for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from businesses, organisations and individuals. The fund pool is divided into two categories:

       Category A is for new technologies and processes

       Category B is for businesses using proven existing technologies and processes

Applications for 2017/18 grants close on 29 September 2017 5pm.
