Leases on reserves

Council administers a number of lease agreements on reserve land. Currently we are consulting on leases for Kapiti Petanque Club, Kapiti Amateur Radio Society and Te Kohanga Reo o Tararua ki Paraparaumu.

Rahui Rugby Club

This lease agreement would be for part of the land area known as Ōtaki Domain in Ōtaki. Rahui Rugby Club has occupied this site since April 1984. It is proposed the lease activity will continue to provide a space soley for the purposes and activities associated with rugby.

The land is classified as recreation reserve, which means that leasing powers are provided by Section 54 of the Reserves Act 1977. Kāpiti Coast District Council proposes entering into a ten year lease with two further ten year rights of renewal with the club.
