Leases on reserves

Council administers a number of lease agreements on reserve land. Currently we are consulting on leases for Kapiti Petanque Club, Kapiti Amateur Radio Society and Te Kohanga Reo o Tararua ki Paraparaumu.

Te Kohanga Reo o Tararua ki Paraparaumu

This lease agreement would be for part of the land area known as Tennis Court Road Reserve in Raumati South. The Kohanga Reo has occupied this site since April 1997. It is proposed the lease activity will continue to provide a space soley for the purposes and activities associated with the Kohanga Reo.

Tennis Court Road Reserve is classified as local purpose reserve, which means that leasing powers are provided by section 61 of the Reserves Act 1977. Kāpiti Coast District Council proposes entering into a twenty year lease, commencing 1 April 2017.

Kapiti Amateur Radio Society Inc.

This lease agreement would be for part of the land area adjacent to the Paraparaumu Domain in Paraparaumu. The Kapiti Amateur Radio Society Inc has occupied this site since 1997. It is proposed that the club continue to occupy this space by way of a lease solely for the purposes and activities associated with the Kapiti Amateur Radio Society Inc.

The land was classified as recreation reserve in 1989, which means that leasing powers are provided by Section 54 of the Reserves Act 1977. Kāpiti Coast District Council proposes entering into a ten year lease with two further ten year rights of renewal with the club.

This lease agreement would be for part of the land known as Paraparaumu Domain in Paraparaumu. The Kapiti Petanque Club Inc has occupied this site since 2002. It is proposed that the club continue to occupy this space by way of a lease solely for the purposes and activities associated with the Kapiti Petanque Club Inc.

The land is classified as recreation reserve in 1907, which means that leasing powers are provided by Section 54 of the Reserves Act 1977. Kāpiti Coast District Council proposes entering into a five year lease with two further five year rights of renewal with the club.
