Otaraua Park

Kāpiti Coast District Council purchased the land for Otaraua Park in 2012 for sport and recreation. The Otaraua Park Management Plan was put in place in 2014. The park is currently home to football fields in winter, and has potential to provide for a wide range of recreational and sporting opportunities, as well as having areas for preservation, restoration and a network of recreational paths connecting surrounding communities.

We’ve been engaged with the community, iwi and stakeholders for the past 18 months to hear how you want Otaraua Park used. All of that feedback has been used to create the Otaraua Park Draft Development Plan. For more details on how the plan was developed, guiding principles and the types of activities included check out the full Consultation Document here.

The Draft Development Plan is a long-term, staged development plan for the park. We want to hear what you think about the plan. Specifically, please share:

  1. What you think about the priorities identified
  2. What specific ideas in the plan are most/least important to you
  3. How important you think developing Otaraua Park is to our community.

You can have your say between 9 July and 9 August by:

  1. Fill out the survey online here
  2. Pick up a hard copy survey from your local Council Service Centre or the Paraparaumu Library
  3. Email otarauapark@kapiticoast.govt.nz
