The Kāpiti Coast District Council is an organisation where people enjoy working. They feel they are making a difference. There are some very large projects underway with more projects scheduled for the foreseeable future.  You would be part of a team working on implementing new, and enhancing existing, solutions, as well as ensuring applications remain current. Focus areas are, customers interacting with the council online, and staff being able to perform activities in the field.

Within the ICT team the Business Analyst will assist in a variety of workstreams that will involve;

  • The successfully delivery of ICT projects;
  • Providing business analysis, documentation and facilitation that are fit for purpose;
  • Managing the stakeholder requirements and ensuring that they effectively understood, articulated, agreed, documented and met;
  • Communicating business and systems concepts clearly and succinctly;
  • Defining and maintaining the Council’s ICT strategy and work plans;
  • Supporting the organisation’s managers and their teams in the use of business process analysis, requirements and project methodologies;
  • Developing online forms and processes
  • Championing ideas and technology across the organisation.

Individual capability & skills sought after;

  • A relevant tertiary or professional qualification with proven experience in business analysis
  • At least five or more years experience as a BA
  • End-to-end experience in a project environment
  • Excellent communication skills to enable effective relationships to be developed with the business, vendors and the ICT team business cases
  • Scoping and defining business requirements on complex projects
  • Identifying new processes that will add value to the organisation
  • Advanced stakeholder management skills – you have a history of bringing people with you
  • Proven use of structured analysis techniques, analysis tools and methodologies
  • Knowledge of local government and relevant legislation.
