The Kapiti Coast District Council is looking for an enthusiastic person to join our planning team. With a knowledgeable and innovative leadership team we offer the opportunity to commence or continue your career by working on a range of diverse resource management tasks and projects in a friendly and supportive team environment. The successful candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification or experience in planning, good knowledge of the Resource Management Act, is well organised and has outstanding interpersonal skills.
This role would be perfect for someone that wants to be involved in the planning industry and has an interest in learning and growing. Being a part of a high functioning team of planners the position will involve administration functions for both the resource consents and district planning teams which will provide great variety and experience in all aspects of local government resource management planning. Specific tasks will include being responsible for arranging pre-application meetings, administering Councils E-Plan and planning web pages, financial management and providing lead technical support to the team.
With increasing population and financial growth, major expressway roading projects underway, and a diverse and dynamic coastal environment, now is a great time to be involved in planning within the region. We have a focus on improving our practices so we are after someone who takes pride in their work, has a good eye for detail, strong work ethic and enjoys continuous improvement.
