Download Antenno, a free mobile app that sends you Council-related notifications about things that affect or impact the places you care about. These include things like major water outages, road works, closures, Council events and more.
You can choose the places you want to be alerted about, so we're not bothering you with things that don't affect you. This might include your home, workplace or where your kids go to school. It's up to you! You can also opt out of topics that aren't of interest to you.
What can you get notifications about? We'll be sending info out about road works, road closures, rates and water rates payment reminders, dog registration reminders, consultations, sports ground closures, aquatics and library closures and events, and major water outages.
No need to check multiple sources of information either – Antenno sends information directly to your mobile phone.
Need to let us know about something?
Antenno is also an easy, fast way to send us info about Council-related issues, for example graffiti that needs to be removed from a public place or a trees that's fallen and is blocking a road. Just go to the app and add to 'your reports' – the app will prompt you for the info we need.
If you send your report outside of working hours (8am-5pm, Monday to Friday) and it's urgent, please call us on 0800 486 486 so we can respond immediately. Otherwise, your report will be processed on the next business day.
Download Antenno today!
Antenno is free for all customers – download it from the App Store or get it on Google Play now. It doesn't ask for any personal information or login details, so it's a nice easy way to stay informed.
How to add my places
Antenno works by sending notifications to your saved 'places'. Your places could be your home, your children's school or your local sports field. We recommend adding all places of interest to ensure you are receiving all notifications for things that you may be interested in or things that might affect your neighbourhood.
In the video below, Parks Officer Mark will show you how to add something to your places.
Questions and answers
If it's an emergency please contact emergency services.
If immediate attention is required and it's outside normal working hours (8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday), please give us a call on 0800 486 486 so we can deal with it straight away. Otherwise, your request will be processed on the next business day.
The aim of Antenno is to provide relevant information for places you care about. If it was broader, Antenno posts would start to resemble a social media feed that you need to sift through to find messages relevant to you. If something comes up that affects the whole District, you'll still receive a notification.
Yes, you can select your settings and decide what type of information you want to receive from the Council.
Not at this stage, but very soon you'll be able to.
If you've found the post useful, you can thank us using the thumbs up icon. Future enhancements to Antenno will allow for more interaction.
The app requires either a Wi-Fi connection or mobile data to receive notifications. If you're somewhere without Wi-Fi and don't have your mobile data on, you won't receive new posts until you're connected again.
If there hasn't been any incidents or information relevant to your saved places you won't be sent any notifications! Don't worry – Antenno will let you know when something happens..
When we have a notification to send we assess which parts of the District would find the message relevant. For example:
- A notification about an incident or road closure on State Highway 1 between Paraparaumu and Waikanae would be sent to the whole District, because that road's widely used.
- A rates reminder would be sent District-wide, and so would a reminder about dog registrations.
- A notification about a Council event in Paekākāriki would only be sent to Paekākāriki.
Each notification shows which of your saved places it relates to, by displaying the places' nickname at the top left.
For example, if you've saved three places (your home, work and rental property for example) you'll see that for a rates reminder (a District-wide message) all three nicknames appear at the top as this post is relevant to all three places.
As another example; if your rental property is in Waikanae Beach and you receive a water outage message for that place, it's because there's a water outage in Waikanae Beach and not at your home in Paraparaumu.
Because other councils use the app, you need to be in our District to send us a report.
If you’re at the beach, or at a specific address and the GPS isn’t accurate enough to pinpoint your location, please override the GPS and just enter the address manually.
You can add the park as one of ‘your places’. So, if you want to get alerts about Mazengarb Reserve closures, just add that park to your places.
