Are you an experienced Senior Advisor or Project Manager that enjoys working across a diverse range of projects?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Ventures and Partnerships Team on a 12 month fixed term contract.

You will work alongside the Ventures and Partnerships Team, reporting to the Manager Ventures and Partnerships. Together as a team you will build and maintain trusted relationships with key partners and stakeholders to progress strategics projects that will make a positive difference for our community.

Nā tōu rourou | What you will bring


To excel in this role, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification, experience working on complex projects and with a diverse group of partners and stakeholders and hold a current and valid NZ Driver licence.

You will often be working on opportunities that are new to Council and it is crucial that you bring strong knowledge of and experience in:
  • Providing robust and well-considered advice for strategic projects and opportunities, ensuring strong alignment with district, regional and central government frameworks and legislation as well as alignment with Council’s Strategic Direction.
  • Progressing and delivering on key strategic projects, providing project management, reporting and oversight and managing key risks, and ensure advancement of project delivery
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with key external partners and stakeholders (including Iwi and the development community), internal project teams and managers, and external agencies.
  • Facilitating internal and external discussions regarding strategic development opportunities, ensuring the benefits of strategic opportunities are well communicated, and that risks are carefully managed.
  • Ensuring projects follow sound and legally robust process, including community and stakeholder consultation at key stages.
