About the role
As Senior Advisor, you will provide senior-level support and guidance to managers and staff across the organisation to coordinate effective responses to official information requests and complaints, respond to privacy breaches, administer warranting and delegations processes, oversee Council’s statutory compliance reporting processes, and provide training, advice, and support across the functions in the Legal Compliance and Complaints team.
You will have excellent organisational skills and will thrive on administering operational processes and working to deadlines. You will be confident providing quality, timely and accurate guidance to managers and staff across your areas of responsibility.
You will have a growth mindset and excellent judgment. You will build effective relationships, be customer-orientated and committed to high quality outcomes.
Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of and experience working with local or central government processes and practices, including a familiarity with and ability to interpret relevant legislation in particular the 1974 and 2002 Local Government Acts, the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (or equivalent Official Information Act 1982), and the Privacy Act 2020.
- Demonstrated ability to provide senior-level advice and guidance to support in the effective management of official information requests, complaints and statutory compliance.
- Demonstrated high level of organisation, responsibility and time management
- Demonstrated high level of political awareness, risk management, discretion and good judgment.
- Effective and confident interpersonal skills with a demonstrated commitment to customer service and willingness to and capability for working with a wide range of people within and outside the organisation.
