Celebrating American Car Culture - 20th - 23rd February 2025 Welcome & Get Onboard! Tickets are sure to go... Americarna is the ultimate celebration of American car culture. If you don’t have a car to take and join in the festivities, don’t stress, cruise into the heart of the festival by heritage train! These special train packages make it easier than ever for out-of-town visitors to join the festivities. It’s a fantastic way to experience everything Americarna has to offer without the hassle of driving or parking, allowing more people to immerse themselves in the excitement of American car culture. Proudly held annually in Taranaki since 2007 the festival welcomes hundreds of classic, vintage and modern American cars - and now a train - into the region to rev it up! Brief Itinerary Thursday 20th February - Train Travel Day - North to Taranaki Spend the afternoon nestled in the township of Inglewood and explore the muscle cars as part of the Americarna Festival. The locals host an astounding street party. Experience live entertainment, indulge in superb food, refreshing beverages, craft stalls, and fantastic kids’ activities, before jumping back on the train to head into New Plymouth in the evening. Friday 21st February - Train Travel Day Join us on our big red train, trailing a convoy of roaring, chrome-clad legends as they cruise down the highways of South Taranaki, turning heads and capturing hearts. Departing from the New Plymouth Wind Wand at 9:30am, returning at 5pm making stops at Stratford & Hāwera. This train experience promises a day filled with adrenaline, nostalgia, and enjoyment. Saturday 22nd February - Optional Train Travel Day Find your own way into town for, Americarnival! From 10am to 3pm on Devon St East in the New Plymouth CBD, witness entrant vehicles on display. The CBD will buzz with energy, creating an irresistible atmosphere. Immerse yourself in the vibrant event, accompanied by fantastic music and a delectable array of refreshments available at local bars, restaurants, and cafés. Choose to ride on one of our local trains travelling to and from Lepperton for the day, or an afternoon run out to Stratford! Sunday 23rd February - Train Travel Day - South to Kapiti Join the train at the New Plymouth Wind Wand first thing in the morning and settle in for our return journey back to the Kapiti Coast, throughout the day. As we drop you home after a whirlwind few days with Steam Incorporated, and the festivities of Americarna, take the time to reflect on being involved in a first for the Americarna event!
