Waikanae Pop-Up Library @Mahara Gallery
The hours at the Mahara Gallery are 10am-4pm weekdays, closed public holidays and weekends.
Following the discovery of toxic mould, the main Waikanae Library and Service Centre is closed until further notice. Continuing to deliver library and customer services to our Waikanae customers is important to us so as an interim step we’ve set up a pop-up service while we work on options for how we deliver our services in Waikanae in 2019 and beyond.
Pop-Up services on offer
Our library services include:
- some library programmes (to be held in Mahara Place and other Waikanae venues, weather dependent).
We have a small selection of items available onsite for loan, including large print, talking books, and new fiction. Crates of mixed board books, early readers and picture books, and newspapers will also be available.
Our customer services team are on hand to give you information on:
- where and how to make payments
- where you can register your dog
- how you can make a hall booking
- how to request a building file.
No payments systems are available, however payments for rates & water rates will continue to be taken at Kiwibank/NZ Post, and at our other service centres in Paraparaumu and Ōtaki.
POP-UP LIBRARY QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
How does the pop up work?
Before the pop up opened, we closed the foyer (the previous location for the pop-up library) off from rest of library, decontaminated, cleaned and tested to make sure it’s safe for everyone to use!
How long will the pop-up be around?
We can’t say just yet, as we’re still exploring medium term, and long term options for delivering services in Waikanae.
