If you’re a poet we want to know it! – Poetry Competition
Share a poem from your bubble! Write a poem about what the pandemic has meant for you and your bubble.
Kāpiti Coast District Libraries annual poetry competition returns for the eighth year. Celebrate Phantom Billstickers National Poetry Day by writing a poem on the theme "Bubbles”.
All entries will be published as a print book and eBook.
Entry Details: Entry is free and open to all users of the Kāpiti Coast District Libraries. You may submit one poem per person of no more than 10 lines.
Please submit your entry using the appropriate form from one of these links.
Entries may be in English or Te Reo Māori.
Please read the guidelines and conditions of entry. By submitting your poem into this competition, you agree to these conditions.
Submission Dates: Open from 17 April to 19 June 2020.
There are three age groups:
Child 6 – 12 years Enter below
Teen 13 – 17 years Enter below
Adults 18+ years Enter below
We will announce the winners after entries have been judged. The winning poets will be contacted.
All poets are invited to read their poems before an appreciative audience at the planned National Poetry Day Open Mic Night on 21 August 5.30 – 6.30pm at Paraparaumu Library (please note we cannot confirm this event will go ahead due the present changing situation with the Covid19 pandemic).
