Kāpiti Coast District Libraries, in partnership with Kāpiti Art Studio, are bringing the StoryWalk® project to Kāpiti for the first time!
StoryWalks® are a great way to enjoy stories while staying active with your friends and whānau. On a StoryWalk®, the pages of a book are displayed on boards, so you can read the book while you explore outdoors.
Our StoryWalks® will be up in two locations: MacLean Park, Paraparaumu Beach, and Haruātai Park, Ōtaki.
Our first StoryWalks® will feature 'A Bird Tale', written by Jill Drew and illustrated by artists from Kāpiti Art Studio. The StoryWalk® frames are reusable, so we plan on featuring different stories in the future! Watch this space.
Celebrate the opening of the StoryWalks® at our special whānau-friendly launch events:
- MacLean Park, Paraparaumu Beach: Saturday 9 December, 11am–12:30pm.
- Haruātai Park, Ōtaki: Wednesday 17 January, 1–2:30pm.
