What's On: Sustainability Events
Every July, we provide an opportunity for Kāpiti residents to get hands-on with our series of FREE workshops for all ages.
Kāpiti Community Garden Parties take place across the district through late summer and autumn involving free workshops, activities, and festivities. It’s about gardening, but also recognising the wider role community gardens can play in community building, education and encouraging local food production.
Ōtaki Library - Learn Grow and Share:
Garden talks and Ako Skills Cafe
Together with the development of the community gardens, the Ōtaki Library will be holding bi-monthly garden talks on different gardening topics. They are on the first Thursday of the month.
We have a regular free monthly programme, Ako: Skills Café, in which a member of our talented community teaches a different skill or craft each month. These are each month on the fourth Friday of the month. 10.30am – 12pm
Our next one is a pottery hand-building class on Friday 27 September 10.30am.
*Registrations are required for the Ako sessions - please pop into the library or send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
