Weggery Drive Community Garden Party
About 16 people gathered on the evening of the Autumn Equinox to find out more about the garden, and see a demonstration on how to make a no-dig bed (great for this time of year as it should be ready to plant by next spring). The garden has been established on the roadside section of James and Julie Bishop at 33 Weggery Drive: they haven’t had regular gardening bees, so it was great for the different gardeners involved to get together face to face, and the workshop was followed by a lot of networking over tea and snacks. The idea with this garden is that people contribute what they can- at the moment there are zucchini, brassicas, baby leeks, broccoli and herbs – and take what they need.
