Mazengarb Reserve

This large reserve is home to the Mazengarb Sports Complex, a playground, Coastlands Kapiti Sports Turf and event facility, the Paraparaumu Croquet Club, Kāpiti Gymsports, and many sports.

As you drive into the reserve, Paraparaumu Croquet Club is on the left just inside the entrance and Kāpiti Gymsports is on the right.

As you drive down further, you’ll find a playground on the left. It’s set slightly down from the road with picnic tables, plenty of trees for shade, and heaps of equipment for all ages, including a flying fox.

Then there’s Coastlands Kapiti Sports Turf and event facility on the right – it’s is a real asset to the Kāpiti Coast. You can come and use the hockey turf for personal practice by hiring a key or you can book out/hire the turf or facility.

The main sports fields are used for touch rugby in the summer and football in the winter, both during the week and on weekends. You might even spot a fitness group or two during the evenings. You can hire out the Mazengarb Sports Complex which sits above the sports fields and includes changing rooms and an open hall space.

Dogs aren’t allowed on the sports fields but you can have them on leash through the road area and onto the walking paths surrounding the reserve.

Gates to the reserve are open 6am-11pm daily.
