Waikanae Park

This is a large park with multiple areas and is home to a range of sports throughout the year. The sports fields host rugby and soccer during the winter and cricket in the summer. There are also exercise areas with equipment to train on.

The entrance to Waikanae Park, off Park Avenue, leads to the Waikanae Pony Club and an off-leash dog area on the left hand side. There are dog poo bags available at the gate so please pick up after your dog. You can also walk your dog on-leash in the bush behind the sports fields.

There are public toilets next to the Waikanae Wrestling Club with plenty of space to park. A small skate park and playground sit on the corner of Park Avenue and Ngarara Road, with something to do for all ages. The open green space and picnic tables make this a great spot to enjoy with the whole family.

Follow Ngarara Road past Waikanae Pools to the Waikanae Recreation Centre and Waikanae Rugby Club car park. Watch your favourite teams battle it out for the title of Kāpiti’s best rugby team!
