We maintain more than 500 hectares of parks and sports grounds and almost 80 kilometres of walkways, cycleways, and horse-riding paths. We're spoilt for choice when it comes to exploring our backyard, and there's something for everyone to enjoy!

Our beaches
We're spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches and with 40 kilometres of coastline on our doorstep, it's hard to visit just one. Whether it's swimming, fishing, kayaking, kite-flying, picnicking, horseback riding, or dog walking, let our map direct you to all the sand and surf that Kāpiti has to offer.

Our cycleways, walkways and bridleway
Kāpiti has an excellent network of cycling, walking and bridleway trails suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. Get out and enjoy the scenery of the Kāpiti Coast with family and friends.

Parks and playgrounds
From quiet relaxation to energetic activity, there's something for everyone at our parks and reserves. Choose from the hills, coast, forests, waterways or local urban parks – whatever suits your interests. We also have 49 playgrounds in neighbourhoods across Kāpiti.
All parks, playgrounds and reserves on the Kāpiti Coast are looked after by Council staff and are free for everyone to use.
