Annual plan 2017/18

Public consultation on the 2017/18 annual plan closed on 1 May. Each year we consider what’s set out in the long term plan for the coming year, and review it in light of any changes or developments that require us to adapt our planning.

Why an annual plan?

The purpose of the annual plan is detailed in the Local Government Act and includes:

  • budget and funding impacts of the Council's activities
  • variations from the long term plan
  • a statement of service provision across all activities carried out by the Council

Our current overarching plan is the FutureKāpiti Long term plan 2015-35, which was adopted by the Council in 2015 following extensive community consultation.

While the long term plan maps out our plans for the upcoming 20 years, we also need the flexibility to adjust the plan as circumstances require. The current annual plan sets out adjustments to our long term plan, and the level of rates for the current financial year.
