Long-term Plan – a plan for growth and resilience
Consultation on our Long-term Plan 2021–41 is open.
Council has drafted a Long-term Plan that lays out the proposed activities, services and projects we intend to do, how much these are likely to cost us, and how we plan to pay for it. Now it’s your turn to tell us what you think.
Our draft plan is a plan for growth and resilience.
We want your views on:
- Our new community outcomes that will guide our decision-making
- Our proposal to increase our investment in our district’s infrastructure and borrow more to fund this
- The big issues we’re facing as a district and how we plan to respond to these
- Four key decisions: Should we take a bigger role in housing? Should we repair the Paekākāriki seawall a different way? Would it be useful to set up a council-controlled organisation (CCO)? Should we take the first steps to explore a possible role for the Council in the airport?
This plan will have an impact on everyone living on the Kāpiti Coast, in one way or another. Not only does it have a direct impact on rates (we’re proposing an average increase of 7.8 percent for 2021/22), it also has an impact on the services and facilities we offer, and how we prioritise our mahi (work).
