Social Investment Fund Expression of Interest Evaluation Panel

We are seeking expressions of interest from people to be part of a five member panel to evaluate applications received for the Council’s Social Investment Fund.

Do you have a range of experience and expertise to assist with the allocation of funding to contribute to positive outcomes to the community? We are looking for people with good local knowledge of Kāpiti and a range of expertise and experience to assess applications to Council for funding from not-for-profit social service organisations.

The purpose of the Social Investment Fund is to strengthen the impact and effectiveness of Council’s funding of not-for-profit social service organisations so it is strategic, strongly aligned with Long-term Plan outcomes and focuses on the changing needs and circumstances of our communities. The priorities reflect input from Kāpiti’s not-for-profit sector and align with outcomes in the Long-term Plan.

There are three priorities for social investment funding:

  • Connected communities
  • Safe communities
  • A capable sector.

Applications are open for funding that will provide over a million dollars of funding to not-for-profit social service organisations within the district over the next three years.

While final decisions on funding are made by elected members, these decisions are guided by the recommendations of the independent panel.

Independent Evaluation Panel

We are hoping for applicants from a rich and diverse background who have a deep connection to the Kāpiti community. Expertise or experience working within or alongside iwi/hapū and whānua, community services, youth, education, not-for-profit sector, business would all be useful to for this mihi.

Applications close on 16 May 2022, and the Panel will be appointed by Council members.

It is anticipated the evaluation process will take two working days, likely to be one day in the week of 30 May 2022, and one day in the week of 1 August 2022.
