Kāpiti Arts Guide Listing no. 83
I’m an experimental multi-media artist, mainly working in abstract techniques. My favourite medium is fluid acrylic. The intensity of pigments and versality of these paints encourages experimentation. My technique is intuitive – I’ll choose the colours and the support, and then the process is very dynamic. I like my work to be seen in sunlight and I often use interference or reflective paints to create light interplay.
My work is held in private collections here and overseas. I am a practising artist member of the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts and I have exhibited work in many Academy exhibitions over the years. In 2016 my husband and I held a joint multi-media audio and visual exhibition called 'Join the Club'. I was a second place prize winner in the 2014 Wellington Emerging Artist Awards, as well as a finalist in the 2012 and 2013 awards. I was a top 10 finalist in the 2014 Unleash Art Competition.
