Heart Beats In The Night – Stories From A Life In Nature

Ngā Manu Nature Reserve, Waikanae, Kapiti Coast

WED 06 JUL 1:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M.

The fifth Lecture in our Ngā Manu Winter Lecture Series 'Heart beats in the night – Stories from a life in nature' with speaker Alison Ballance – Broadcaster and writer, Nelson.
(Te Apārangi Sponsored Speaker).

Alison Ballance shares stories of her favourite wildlife encounters. She sheds light on her 35-year association with kākāpō, discovers the amazing journeys of New Zealand’s great white sharks and charts the ups and downs of the long-running conservation effort to save takahē.

Alison is a freelance natural history writer and broadcaster, who directed and produced wildlife documentaries for NHNZ for 18 years. She also presented and produced RNZ’s weekly science show Our Changing World for more than 12 years. She is a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to natural history, broadcasting and filming, and has just completed her 30th book, on takahē, which is due out next year.

This lecture takes place in our Robin’s Nest building at Ngā Manu. Entry is by paper koha at the door.
