The Web Genius Kāpiti Run for Youth 2023

Maclean Park, Paraparaumu, Kapiti Coast

SUN 26 MAR 8:45 A.M. - 12:30 P.M.

Anchor your calendar now to take part in the 2023 Web Genius Kāpiti Run for Youth (KR4Y) on Sunday 26 March 2023 to raise funds and fitness for Kāpiti rangatahi youth while having fun strolling or running along the beautiful Kāpiti coastline.

KR4Y has raised $196,626 for youth of Kāpiti since inception in 2011. In 2022 the event went virtual raising $21,626 which is a remarkable considering financial constraints while we remain in the grips of Covid. In 2020 we also went virtual with everyone doing it alone or within their bubble in their own neighbourhood. That approach was also successful, raising $20,583. In 2021 we managed to take place in-person, raising a record amount of $24,619.

We know KR4Y helps to support amazing community work done by local Fundraising Partners. Funding streams like what KR4Y can offer is even more necessary in a Covid world as fundraising becomes more difficult for not-for-profit entities during tougher financial times. We know with our support, our partners can make a positive impact by doing good in our community for youth which continues to motivate us.

KR4Y will open for registration early in January 2023. At that time, we will be seeking individuals and groups to get together to walk or run from Paraparaumu Beach (Maclean Park) to Raumati Beach and back. For those choosing the 12km walk or run, they will do two circuits of the course.

There are four options to choose from 12 or 6km walk and the 12 or 6km run. Registration takes place from 8.45am to 10am with all walkers and runners starting together at 10.15am. Once your profile is set-up online, let your family, friends and work mates know so they can sponsor your efforts. There is a $20 qualifying fee that we encourage every participant to raise through sponsorship instead of an entry fee. All entrants will receive regular campaigns to motivate their sponsorship efforts along the way.

We are a family-friendly event – all humans, baby buggies and crowd-friendly dogs on leads are welcome. Bring your sunhat, sunscreen and water on the day. There are sponsored prizes, treats for the kids, certificates for everyone participating and free Paekākāriki Mini Pops for everyone at the end. Closer to the time, go to the website to register or sponsor someone that you know who is participating >> https://www.kapitirunforyouth.co.nz/ – all registrations and sponsorship are handled securely and confidentially on the KR4Y website.

BUSINESS SPONSORSHIP
Business sponsorship: Platinum $1,000+, Gold $500, Silver $250, Bronze $125 is available for businesses who want to support the underlying work of this event and rangatahi youth of Kāpiti. In 2022 we were grateful to 67 local business sponsors to the value of $17,050 that can be viewed on the KR4Y website. Sponsorship for the 2023 campaign will open late in January 2023.

FUNDRAISING MODEL
Our fundraising model focuses on returning as much money as we can back to the Kāpiti community to those working with rangatahi youth. All funds raised are split 70% to the official Fundraising Partner chosen by the participant at the time of registration and 30% is retained towards running and promotion of the event. View Fundraising Partners on our website: Challenge for Change Kāpiti, Kāpiti Basketball Association, Kāpiti College, Kāpiti Kindness Trust, Kāpiti Youth Support, No 49 Squadron Air Cadets Kāpiti, Ōtaki College, Paraparaumu College, The Shed Project Kāpiti, Whirlwind Kāpiti, Work Ready Kāpiti, ZEAL Kāpiti.
