Alan is a practising member of the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts and has exhibited in the Wellington region from 2012 to 2018. He was the overall winner in the 2013 Wellington Emerging Artists awards. He also records music under the alias Manzo. He works in a wide range of media and use a range of techniques in order to express his ideas, messages and stories. “Social commentary through art is a developing interest to me.”
Ellen is an experimental multi-media artist, mainly working in abstract techniques. She is a practising artist member of the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts and has exhibited work in many Academy exhibitions over the years. She won second prize in the 2014 Wellington Emerging Artist Awards, and was a finalist in the 2012 and 2013 awards, and in the 2014 Unleash Art Competition. Her favourite medium is fluid acrylic. Her technique is intuitive, choosing the colours and the support, with a dynamic process, often using interference or reflective paints to create light interplay, to create work best seen in sunlight.
