About the Kāpiti Arts Trail
The Kāpiti Arts Trail is a vibrant annual event established in 2000, evolving from a popular community celebration of Kāpiti artists to a major drawcard for visitors from other regions.
Artists draw inspiration from the beautiful bush-clad hills, fantastic parks and rivers, and open beaches and, of course, Kāpiti Island. Visitors can enjoy meeting our artist community and interacting with their work, as well as our wonderful natural features and great eating places and accommodation.
Kicking off with two exciting weekends in November each year, the Arts Trail allows locals and visitors to self-guide their own tour, visiting artists at various locations. There's free entry to all venues, and they're open 10am to 4pm each day during the Arts Trail. Our Arts Guide also shows which artists are open year round (and their opening times), making the trail one that you can return to throughout the year.
The Kāpiti Arts Trail 2021 has more than 100 artists participating, working in a wide range of media. Find out more about the artists at Artists 2021 or visit the KapitiCoastnz.com website for more stories and itinerary ideas.
