Emma is mostly a painter and a willow basket weaver. She is experimental and often uses found objects to paint on and use within her art.
Emma’s art draws from the flora, fauna and people of Aotearoa. The stories of the people and landscapes are seen throughout her work. She mostly paints with acrylic. Bright, figurative and representational work. Her painting could be described as naive.
Emma weaves willow baskets and lightshades and grows most of the willow she uses locally. She has been weaving for three years.
Currently she is studying towards a certificate in creativity at The Learning Connection in Lower Hutt.
