Luke Kelly Fine Art Studio
Kāpiti Arts Trail: Listing 5
Artistic medium: Sculpture, printmaking
Luke creates dynamic artworks from wood and other materials, that are small enough to hang on your wall but are intriguingly interactive. Drawing on New Zealand's cross-cultural histories as inspiration, Luke's intention is for people to touch and engage with his artworks.
Luke is a self-taught artist and has been painting, printmaking and creating sculpture all his life. A qualified visual communication designer, Luke’s work impresses with its clean design lines and creative juxtaposition of form, colour, and texture.
Luke has exhibited solo at Pātaka Art + Museum, and in joint shows at Mahara Gallery and Depot Artspace (Auckland) as well as twice previously on the Kāpiti Arts Trail. His art also hangs permanently at the Boundary Tap & Kitchen, Raumati Beach.t, woven tukutuku and weatherboard surface structures.
