Paula Archibald | Clay Art Ceramics
Kāpiti Arts Trail: Listing 80
Artistic medium: Ceramics and pottery, sculpture
Walk up the drive to Paula’s studio gallery and garden to view spectacular and original, one-off ceramics to enhance indoor and outdoor spaces. Paula creates figurines and marionettes with sculptured facial planes that reflect beautifully in interior lighting, hand-built candlesticks for indoor/outdoor use, and fountains and totem poles that sparkle in sun or rain in the garden.
Paula has been involved with clay and other mediums since she was 17. She works with a variety of clays and different techniques to create her one-off pieces, inspired by life.
Paula exhibits at the Alfred Memelink Artspace gallery in Petone and the Festival of the Pots and Garden Art in Ōtaki yearly. She regularly gives classes to up-and-coming potters at the Ōtaki Pottery Club.
