Kāpiti Arts Trail: Guide Listing no. 26
Artistic medium: Painting
Micheline Robinson is a contemporary professional painter creating sculptural glass-like worlds. This year’s series is informed by psychological themes as she explores the idea of connection. Micheline’s work investigates new methods to communicate emotion and upends standard assumptions of narrative, beauty, and composition. The works also intend to provoke thought and to fool the viewer into believable spaces. Images, such as profiles and occasionally rabbits are intertwined in the compositions and unfold as the paintings are viewed.
Micheline has exhibited in 12 countries, including solos in the UK, Canada, and New Zealand. Her work is held in corporate and private collections.
