Totally unique and individual drawings and paintings on recycled boards, doors, and tabletops fascinate visitors to Elisabeth's rustic studio overlooking her garden.
This award-winning artist has been making art since childhood and has exhibited her artwork throughout New Zealand since 2006. She has been regularly shortlisted for major awards and exhibitions, and achieved a Highly Commended award in the prestigious Parkin Drawing Prize in 2020.
Qualified as an interior architect and in fine arts, Elisabeth combines her architectural drawing skills with mixed-media paintings, drawing inspiration from the more obscure, smaller architectural structures around New Zealand (lighthouses, boatsheds, water towers, tramping huts). The attentive viewer moving in close will also discover Elisabeth's love of archaeology, old maps, and architectural plans (and the intriguing stories behind them) revealed in fine detail and texture through her artwork.
