In a garden full of engaging and colourful, imaginative and whimsical ceramic and multimedia artworks, Janet works with her sister Sue Wilson in their Two Sisters Pottery studio on a Raumati Beach hill. A lifelong artist and more recently a potter, Janet draws her ideas and inspirations from the colours of nature and her garden surrounds.
Beginning her ceramic art practice nine years ago, Janet worked from the Ōtaki Pottery Club and she and her sister exhibited their work as Two Sisters Pottery at the Festival of Pots for seven years. The sisters opened their studio in Raumati Beach for the Kāpiti Arts Trail in 2018. Working in ceramics and barbed wire, Janet hand builds her artworks for the garden and other purposes.
