Kāpiti Arts Trail: Listing 37
Artistic medium: Ceramics and pottery
Follow the signs from Otaihanga Road (near Southward Car Museum) to discover Rebecca’s lovely rural home and studio and gallery full of her colourful, high quality pots and ceramic art.
Rebecca began working in clay from her youth in the United Kingdom, where she gained her degree in Combined Arts. Arriving in New Zealand in 1994, she has been a full-time potter for the last 12 years, also teaching classes from her studio. She has exhibited in the UK, throughout the Wellington region, and New Zealand, and has gained recognition as a finalist and award winner in several exhibitions.
Rebecca hand-builds her larger forms and decorative pieces, and creates a range of wheel-thrown domestic ware. Her work is inspired by many things, including nature, her surroundings, museum artefacts, fabrics, and patterns.
Please note: there is plenty of parking by the gallery, or you can park on Langdale Road (a two-minute walk up the drive).
