Rose Lawson | Jungle Botanics
Kāpiti Arts Trail: Listing 38
Artistic medium: Living ecosystems inspired by nature (Terrariums), botanic creations
Recently arrived in Kāpiti, Rose has set her spacious Jungle Botanics studio up as a celebration of the natural world. Initially a fine arts graduate, Rose trained and has worked as a florist for over ten years, which has led her down many creative paths working with plants and soil.
Terrariums, living ecosystems inspired by nature within a glass vessel, are a specialised form of floral art. To do this requires a wealth of knowledge and experience behind the science of creating healthy and self-sustaining ecosystems. Rose creates her magical terrariums as an expression of her artistic impulse and has spent many years developing a certain aesthetic that highlights the remarkable beauty of nature.
Rose also displays her drawings inspired by nature, at her welcoming studio in Paraparaumu.
