A descendant of world-renowned artist Cedric Savage and granddaughter of Kāpiti artist Brian Trask, Sonia has followed her calling in art for over 25 years. Painting intuitively, her subjects have changed and evolved with her life, with her recent work reflecting connections to motherhood and nature, often incorporating female icons, cultural and geographical symbolism, and elements of narrative and myth. Sonia’s award-winning work is highly sought after, and her paintings hang on the walls of national and international collections, council chambers, and Houses of Parliament.
Sonia will be exhibiting at her studio at her home in Ōtaki Beach with fellow artists Tom Beauchamp and Rod Graham during the Arts Trail.
